PrimaCloud Tour

Let us take you on a short tour of the self-provisioning features of PrimaCloud.   During the tour, we will create the infrastructure for a 2-tier LAMP application (like Sugar CRM or WordPress) and start it in the PrimaCloud datacenter. This PrimaCloud user has previously set up an account with ENKI.

Log InFirst, go to the PrimaCloud login screen and log in with your credentials...

The Control Panel presents all the options for self-service cloud management.

Create a new VPDCClick on "My Cloud" to display the Vapp Table, which shows all the currently configured Virtual Private Data Centers, called vApps.   Select the New VApp button to bring up the New VApp dialog and start the creation process.

Name The Vappby filling out a name, description and selecting how long the resources are needed.

Create The VMs choose the library VM images and add copies of them to your vApp.

Configure VMs Name the VMs and choose a private network segment for them.

Configure VLAN Segment Set up the private network segment for the virtual machines, and default NAT firewall.

Confirm creating the vApp

Start your VPDCConfirm that your virtual machines have been created and click on the Start button to initiate provisioning.

Ready To UseAfter the system completes provisioning, the VMs are shown powered off and ready to run.

Modify a VM Open the MySQL server by selecting it and choosing Properties from the "gear" menu, and update it's RAM to 2GB and make any other changes, such as adding CPU or virtual hard disks.

Ready To RunOnce you have saved any changes, the VPDC is ready to run, and you can start it by seelcting the vApp and pressing the Start button.

Up and Running!After the system completes the startup process, the VMs are shown running with thumbnails of their consoles visible.  You can open a console simply by clicking on it.

Display the VPDC schematic By selecting your running vApp and the "vApp Diagram" tab, a schematic of the running vApp is shown.  You're ready to load software and start using your LAMP application.
